I haven't been on here in years. How are you guys finding it? ...I do miss the old days of submitting work and checking in constantly for views. Praying for that "Daily Deviation" ...is that still a thing? I know we are supposed to do art because we ...

I Pity The Fool

~thoughtless4ever (https://www.deviantart.com/thoughtless4ever) This person steals other people's photographs and passes them off as his own. Nothing new there, and I probably shouldn't give a shit, I have stuff to do. However this particular Art Thief seems to go further than most. He claims to know the people in the photos (well, you have to when annoying scamps like me ask inconventient questions) even claiming one such muscle-bound, gym-goer to be himself. CHECK OUT THE ID !! http://fav.me/d37zdxn does he look like a skateboarder to you? ...Well, you'll be supprised. http://thoughtless4ever.deviantart.com/gallery/28262904?of

Your style rocks!!!

Amazing gallery!
Thanks for the fave :+fav:
After seeing your gallery the fave was a confidence boost ty :)
Thanks for the fave! Great gallery, I like the mix of drawing styles - the Bust Up ones remind me (happily) of the Hernandez brothers work. Do you write a webcomic or are you in 'real' comics?
"Bust-Up" is my first comic, still far from completed. I am still writing it, whilst drawing it, I have enough written for 2 or 3 21 page comics. However I have the overall story arc which could bring it up to 8 comics long ish... I intend to get it produced as single comics though I am also looking at graphic novel formats with web purely as teaser stuff. Personally I don't have the attention span to read web comics.

I also have at least two ideas for follow up stories.

I want a movie deal, but that could just be crazy talk.

I have read very little Hernandez stuff. I have read Girl Crazy a few years ago and I am aware of Love and Rockets aswell as a wrestling one called Woah Nelly. I'd like to keep it that way to be honest. I feel that if I read some now, that I would either be too influenced OR I would give up on the basis that I can't compete.

I am perhaps more influenced by Marvel masters such as Jack Kirby and John Romita, in the stuff not yet uploaded. But really I am trying to embide comic culture rather than obsess over a few sources.

Thanks for the kind words.
Aha, sounds like a full brain and sketchbook of ideas, love it when people are brimming over with enthusiasm for something they adore:) I have only read a book or two of the Hernandez brothers work but liked it; I have to be honest I know the importance of Kirby and Romita on comics history but I don't think I've ever actually read a comic that they've worked on. Bad, bad. I have seen their work but not enough to impact upon me. I quite understand about not focusing too intently upon an artist or style for fear of it influencing your work too heavily; I try to keep an open mind and look out for new (and old) comic artists, concept artists and illustrators for both adults and children to learn from.
Keep up the great work and tell me if you do release some! :)
